We got a golf cart a year or two ago to replace a farm truck and I’m pretty sure that it’s been as good a deal for the environment as it was for us. We barely have to charge it, and I’m sure the electricity we use per mile is a lot less damaging than the gas we used to use per mile. As long as the government is in the business of giving out incentives, I think this is as good as any. Less burning of fuel is certainly worthwhile. My beef is not with the vehicle, but rather with the fact that our government is essentially buying these for people. That simply violates my sense of what government should and should not do. Next, people will no doubt find a need for other things our government -- actually other taxpayers -- should buy them. We have several neighbors that use their ST carts to run to the local market or to visit another neighbor. One couple even rides to Church in their's.
